Project Description :

Phase one construction of the Main Sports Hall, two sets of changing rooms, external toilets, meeting hall with kitchenette and first floor hall/gymnasium. The existing Racquet Hall was renovated with new viewing gallery and changes carried out on the roadside façade, demolition of existing dressing rooms, construction of Utility Plant Room and installation of surface and foul water systems including foul water pumping station (on site and off site). Phase 2 consists of the construction of two sets of changing rooms, disabled wc, referee changing room, reception area and foyer and first floor changing rooms, common room, meeting room, car parking/turning bays, the fitting out and furnishing of 1st floor, surface water and Foul Water piping, new site entrance, access road and boundary treatment and landscaping.

Client : Halla Na Feile Management Committee
Project : New Front Entrance Building (Halla Na Feile), Cashel

Project Description :

Fortress Planning were commissioned to design a new front entrance building for the existing Halla Na Feile Community Hall which consisted of demolising existing front building and constructing a new modern facade which complimented it's surrounding environment. The new entrance building consisted of public toilets, disabled wc, radio station, booking offices, meeting rooms, lift, balcony, green room, conference room, utility plant room and store rooms. The existing hall to the rear was kept and design facilitated keeping main hall open construction was completed. Fortress Planning successfully designed the building and were instrumental in securing Grant from South Tipperary Development Company for the construction project. Fortress Planning was successful in obtaining full planning permission, Fire Safety Certificate (F.S.C.) and Disability Access Certificate (D.A.C.) for both the new and existing community hall building.

The project will consist of the renovation & refurbishment of Cahir Community Hall and will include the complete renovation of the existing public toilet blocks, the replacement of all roof slates, the repainting of the internal and external walls and ceilings, electrical upgrades and other associated works.

We have completed Planning, Design, Construction drawings, specifications and contractor tendering process for the build. We also generated building contracts for this project of tradition style farmhouse dwelling. We have been commissioned by our client to execute Interim inspections and project oversight of building works until completion.

Project : Conversion of ‘Protected Structure’ Town House (1837) into Three One Bedroom Apartments

Project Description :

The project involved the Conversion of ‘Protected Structure’ Town House (1837) into Three One Bedroom Apartments and all associated works for South East Simon Community. Fortress Planning successfully obtained Disability Access Certificate for the new apartments and were commissioned to provide all construction design, construction supervision and overall project management of the construction from start to finish including project handover of Site Safety File. 

Works involved the following;

Renovation, Repairs and Refurbishment of existing building

Reconstruction of Main and Dormer roof

Partial reconstruction of lower rear roof

Construction of Fire compartments between apartments and neighbours

Alterations to existing terrace dwelling

All associated electrical works including new Fire Detection System

All associated mechanical works (Heating & Plumbing) and installation/commissioning of new gas combination boilers

Client : Australian Defence Force / Copenhagen Contractors
Project : MTF (Mentoring Task Force) Relocation Project

Project Description :

Relocation of the Australian Defence Force MTF (Mentoring Task Force) workshops and offices in Camp Holland, MNB-Tarin Kowt, Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan. Project valued at USD $500,000 provided the ADF with undercover workshops, office space, ablutions, 85 military parking spaces, security fencing, surface and foul water drainage, bunkers, electrical works, steelworks, roof/wall cladding with insulation, concrete works and communications conduits for security communications.

Client : Tipperary Racecourse / Horse Racing Ireland
Project : New Stable Block

Project Description :

Fortress Planning was commissioned to design and project manage the demolision of existing two stable blocks and construction of a new 9,000 ft2 stable block consisting of 42 stalls. Construction was completed in April 2012 on budget and on schedule in time for the new race season.

Fortress Planning designed and successfully obtained planning permission from South Tipperary County Council. We proceeded to generate construction details and drawings and manage the construction contractors tendering process. We, Fortress Planning, took the project from conception to completion.

Client : Lisvernane National School - Board of Management
Project : National School Extension

Project Description :

Fortress Planning won the contract to design and project manage the new extension to the national school to include an additional classroom, toilet facilities, new corridor and reception area.

Fortress Planning designed and successfully obtained planning permission from South Tipperary County Council. We proceeded to generate construction details and drawings and managed the construction contractors tendering process. We, Fortress Planning, will take the project from conception to completion.
