What is Area Certification? When a plot of land is given/sold to a third party the area in question has to be measured, marked and stamped by a suitably qualified person confirming the size of the lands to be transferred. This area is then given a separate Folio Number. 

What is a Folio Number? Each landholding has a reference number that ties it back to the deeds of ownerhsip associated with that landholding and this reference number is refered to as a Folio Number.

Who is suitably qualified to carry out Area Certification? Those qualified to carry out area certification are Building Surveyors, Engineers and Architects/Architectural Technologists.
